A brand new website has been launched which gives skiers and snowboarders inside knowledge on snow conditions in Australia and New Zealand.

Mountainwatch.com provides daily snow reports and forecasts, as well as live analysis of temperatures, wind speeds and snow depth at all of the major snowfields. Web cams at each site provide live streaming video of the slopes, making it easy to gauge conditions at any one time.

Also useful are clickable tabs featuring the latest in skiing and snowboarding news, as well as resort information in Australia and New Zealand.

Steve Lee is a senior contributor and snow forecaster for the website. He is no slouch when it comes to monitoring conditions at the country's snowfields, having competed at the Winter Olympics three times and having built a reputation as Australia's best-ever alpine skier.

"The great thing about the website is that it's able to provide unbiased reporting about conditions", he said. "Some condition reports out there aren't always accurate but the information we provide is completely credible, as well as being up-to-date."

The Mountainwatch website is affiliated to www.coastalwatch.com which provides up-to-date surf forecasts at Australian beaches.
